Best Time to Visit

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-October) offer the most comfortable weather at 18-25 degrees C. April and October align with major Yiwu trade fairs for maximum supplier availability. Summer is hot and humid (35 degrees C+). Winters are cold but manageable.

Avoid: Chinese New Year (late January to mid-February) when the entire market closes for 10-15 days and most suppliers are on holiday.

How to Get to Yiwu

By Air

Fly into Yiwu Airport (YIW) with direct flights from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and major Asian cities. Or fly to Shanghai (PVG/SHA) or Hangzhou (HGH) and take the high-speed train to Yiwu (1-2 hours).

By High-Speed Train

Yiwu Railway Station connects to all major Chinese cities. Shanghai to Yiwu: 1.5 hours. Hangzhou to Yiwu: 30 minutes. Guangzhou to Yiwu: 6 hours. Book tickets via 12306.cn or Trip.com.

From Station to Market

A taxi from Yiwu Railway Station to the market takes 15-20 minutes (about 20-30 RMB). Use Didi (Chinese Uber) or ask your hotel to arrange a pickup. Most hotels in Yiwu are within a 10-minute walk from the market.

Where to Stay

International hotels near the market: Yiwu Marriott, Shangri-La, Crowne Plaza. Budget-friendly: Home Inn, Hanting Express. Most buyers stay in Futian District within walking distance of District 1-3.

Canton Fair Connection

April & October • Many buyers combine visits: Canton Fair (Guangzhou) first, then high-speed train to Yiwu. Guangzhou to Yiwu is about 6 hours by train.
